Big Black Boots

So my head has been bits the past two or three weeks but I think it’s not far off being ok now. I’m looking forward to seeing Lis next weekend and having a break from being domestic for a couple of days ;)

Looking for inspiration for something to write about tonight (because I’ve got an itchy blogging muscle) I’ve just had a quick scan of the entries I wrote in November during my first year of blogging and oh-my-god there really was a scary-over-sharey-TMI post. Even my toes cringed. Pleased to say that I won’t be going into that much detail about something like that again.

Saying that, blogging did do some good for me. It gave me some continuity during my nomadic years, and has left me with some awesome friends (did I mention I’m going to see one of them next weekend?) When I’ve been feeling shit I’ve found it can be quite therapeutic to get the crap out of my head and into black and white, even if it’s only to hit the delete button or to lock it up so that only my closest friends can read it (and there’s been times when I’ve been really glad I can do both)…. and even if I don’t lock it there are friends who can read between the lines of babble. There’s probably some psychology in that somewhere.

Of course there’s always music to get lost in… especially when you’re rediscovering old friends in your collection and tracking down that track you’ve always liked from that band. One of them I randomly found in the Boy’s collection…. here’s a vid of it being performed (it shouldn’t auto play so you have a choice whether to watch or not!)

And so I shall hit send on this little bit of self-centredness and go back to stalking people on Facebook….

(ps: I do, indeed, have a pair of big black boots, which I wore when I had long brown hair…. there’s some photos out there somewhere….)

a thousand trees

I guess it’s officially winter now. The car was iced up this morning, the hundred odd geese resting on the loch were making a racket and, of course, the ultimate tell-tale sign: the Chinese takeaway have started giving out free 2010 calendars with every order.

Winter up here is dark – and cold – but the nights out seem to sparkle more as the lasses make up for the dingy days by wearing sparkles. Maybe it’s just the fact that I’m from dahn sahf, where there is some darktime at nightime all year around, but it doesn’t feel like a proper night out unless I am going home in the dark ;)

I’ve finally managed to get that song out of my head which was making me think too much. Now it’s filled with Sterephonic-ness (sorry Lis!)
