He knocked four times….

Don’t worry, no spoilers, I’m not going to say a word about the loss of the tenth Dr… I’m a bit late to do that one anyway. Suffice to say I’ve got Doctor Who – The Complete Specials [DVD] on pre-order (yes, I know, fangirl….)

So we’ve got a new year on our hands then. I’ve made some resolutions, I expect to have broken them by the end of the week but hey…

I didn’t realise just how much I needed the time off work we’ve had over Christmas. Unfortunately I’ve already started thinking about everything that I’ve got to do when I go back (which isn’t until Tuesday, because of the Scottish bank holidays) so I can already feel myself tensing up.

You know, I really can’t write anything more coherent than the above paragraphs tonight (or at least, anything The Internets would be interested in hearing). I think I’ll just go watch a bit o’ Bottom.

Always in motion is the future.

My head is completely up my arse right now. But at least SOMETHING is going right – I start a new job next week!

Mean time, I’m snowed under getting ahead with my latest course, setting up various websites and sorting out a ton of other shit with deadlines and stuff like that. Oh and I am waiting on hearing about an op I need to take 3 of my wisdom teeth out – and suffering with mouth ulcers whilst I wait :(

But, enough about me…

It’s the end of an era now that Grange Hill is closing it’s gates this year It makes me kind of sad – the programme has been going since (just) before I was born and I can remember watching the likes of Zammo, Gonch, Roly, Ronnie, Ziggy, Tegs, Zelda the evil bully(amongst others>) and of course, Mrs McClusky and Mr Bronson (and getting excited when I a him in The Empire Strikes Back!) I think I must have started to watch the programme in 1984 – just after I started school – and I remember being enthralled by what all the “big kids” were doing. The teenage pregnancies, the “Just Say No campaign, the teenage weddings.. the list goes on. Byker Grove (axed in 2006) seemed like it’s poor cousin…

I’ve not seen GH in years (due to the fact I no longer watch CBBC which, incidentally, was “Children’s BBC” when I was a nipper – do you remember the Broom Cupboad? I remember the very first broadcast from there… how scary is that?.. Phillip Schofield pre-Gordon T Gopher years – incidentally I think he was sent in by a viewer?)

Man I feel old now…. I’m 30 this year….
